Damon Leigh & Pat Boone (26 March 2019)

Say what do I do with this stupid tattoo

Of a heart on my neck that says “Suzy”

It’s as blue as the mold on a cheese that’s too old

What a dipstick won’t do for a floozie

I thought she was cool funky hip and old school

I was blind as a bat in a blizzard

So I said "What the heck!" and I inked-up my neck

Now I look like a lopsided lizard

Dumb fads… they come and they go

Like the wind and the rain with the weather

I shoulda slipped the ditzy thing a mood ring

Her name’s gonna stain me forever

The tart broke my heart when she said we must part

Seems the dude who tattooed me replaced me

That pin-peckin' jerk did his home wreckin' work

While he smiled he defiled and defaced me

Hey… life ain’t so bad… I refuse to be sad

Got a new doll who’s really a doozie

Though her handle is “Holly” and she’s never jolly

When she views my tattoo that says “Suzy”

Dumb fads… they come and they go

Like the wind and the rain with the weather

I shoulda slipped the ditzy thing a mood ring

Her name’s gonna stain me forever

INSTRUMENTAL

I’ve peed away cash on ludicrous trash

Like Pet Rocks and other cheap rubble

Much worse than all that this hideous tatt

Ain’t done nothing but buy me deep trouble

Dumb fads… they come and they go

Like the wind and the rain with the weather

I shoulda slipped the ditzy thing a mood ring

Her name’s gonna stain me forever

Dumb fads… they come and they go

Like the wind and the rain with the weather

I shoulda slipped the ditzy thing a mood ring

Her name’s gonna stain me forever

Note: The lyrics of Pat Boone's version of "My Stupid Tattoo" are at slight variance
with those in the original version as recorded by Tony Galla.  Mr. Boone has a certain
public image that he's maintained over his seven decades in show business.
Some of Damon Leigh's original lyrics, while not profane in any way, are
nonetheless incompatible with either Mr. Boone's public or personal persona.
Working together with Mr. Boone, and out of respect for his legendary status in the
music business, Damon Leigh has happily effected these minor lyric changes.
